Episode 8: The Social Construction of Reality

One of the sociologist I read a lot from during my study was Jürgen Habermas who wrote the “Theorie des kommunikativen Handelns”, his most famous work published in 1981. Habermas makes a difference between the objective, the social and the subjective world and links these worlds to our basic attitudes: being expressive, objectivating and norm confirmative. It’s interesting to see that in the objective world art and sciences come together, in the social world social technologies and law and in the subjective world moral and eros.

Let’s start investigating the relationship between art and science.
